What are the symptoms of bladder cancer

Bladder cancer is the most common type of cancer in the urinary system and everyone may be familiar with it. With the development of society, the number of people suffering from the disease is increasing, which has seriously affected people's lives and safety. Since this is a chronic disease, it is not easy to detect during the occurrence process. So what are the symptoms of bladder cancer?

The most common symptom of bladder cancer is hematuria that can be seen with the naked eye without any feeling. This is a unique "abnormal urination signal" of bladder cancer. Almost every bladder cancer patient will experience it, and about 85% of bladder cancer patients seek medical treatment for this reason. There are two types of hematuria: macroscopic hematuria and microscopic hematuria. Macroscopic hematuria refers to bloody urine that can be seen directly with the eyes, and microscopic hematuria refers to red blood cells that can be found in the urine under a microscope. Bladder cancer hematuria is mostly painless and intermittent. Most cases are full-course hematuria, and a few are terminal hematuria. Hematuria accompanied by frequent urination and urgency is less common, which is also a symptom of bladder cancer. Data show that 94% of patients have this as the main symptom. Hematuria is mostly macroscopic hematuria, followed by microscopic hematuria.
It can be intermittent, whole-course, or terminal hematuria. Due to the diversity of hematuria, it is easy to be misdiagnosed or delayed in diagnosis. As the disease progresses or the lesion ranges larger or is complicated by infection, it may be accompanied by urinary tract irritation symptoms, discharge of slough-like substances, discharge of lumps, blood clots, or difficulty urinating due to urinary tract obstruction by lumps, dripping, or even urine retention.
