Conservative treatment for prostate cancer

Conservative treatment for prostate cancer

After being diagnosed with prostate cancer, male patients must go to a regular hospital for treatment in a timely manner. Don't delay going because of face issues, delaying the treatment and regretting it later. For prostate cancer patients, finding an effective treatment method is their common wish. So, what is the conservative treatment of prostate cancer? How to treat it?

In the early stage of prostate cancer, most patients have no obvious symptoms due to the localization of the tumor. It is often discovered accidentally during physical examinations or in surgical specimens of benign prostatic hyperplasia. There are local invasive symptoms, and the bladder-rectum space is often the first to be affected. This space includes the prostate, seminal vesicles, vas deferens, lower end of the ureter and other organ structures. If the tumor invades and compresses the vas deferens, it will cause low back pain and testicular pain in the patient. Some patients also complain of pain during ejaculation.

At present, the conservative treatment methods for prostate cancer mainly include endocrine therapy, radiotherapy and chemotherapy, etc. These treatment methods can have a relatively good therapeutic effect and prolong the patient's life as long as they are used properly. It is critical to choose the treatment method that is suitable for the patient in the treatment of prostate cancer.

Endocrine therapy is widely used in the treatment of prostate cancer. It is a method of regulating the patient's endocrine system. Prostate cancer is typically hormone-dependent. In clinical practice, endocrine therapy can significantly alleviate prostate lesions and symptoms, but it has no significant effect on the patient's survival.

Chemotherapy: In the treatment of prostate cancer, chemotherapy is used as an adjuvant treatment for advanced prostate cancer. It is mainly used for patients who have undergone surgery or radiotherapy and whose local tumors have been eliminated. Chemotherapy drugs are used to eliminate potential small lesions that are currently undetectable. Chemotherapy drugs alone cannot cure the primary lesions. Adjuvant chemotherapy can prolong the patient's survival after surgery. Experiments have found that the most sensitive chemotherapy drug for prostate cancer is cyclophosphamide.
