Experts say that gastric cancer is preventable and curable. As long as it is discovered and treated early, the cure rate can reach 90%.

Is gastric cancer hereditary? In addition to the environment and diet, the genetic factors of the family are also important. It is understood that hereditary familial gastric cancer is a special type of gastric cancer. According to the diagnosis criteria of the International Gastric Cancer Association, hereditary familial gastric cancer refers to more than two gastric cancer patients in the same family, but the pathology of the gastric cancer is unknown.
Hereditary diffuse gastric cancer is a special type of familial gastric cancer, and its diagnosis criteria are more stringent, requiring at least two people in one or two generations to be sick, at least one of whom is younger than 50 years old when sick, and most importantly, all patients have diffuse pathological types. Sometimes, several members of a family will get the same tumor at the same time, giving people the impression that tumor inheritance is a common phenomenon. Even if relatives have a genetic susceptibility gene for tumors, different lifestyles and environments can prevent the occurrence of tumors.
Diffuse gastric cancer is closely related to heredity. Gastric cancer tends to cluster in families. Environmental factors may be the main cause of the occurrence and spread of gastric cancer, but heredity and immunity play a certain role in the formation of gastric cancer. The incidence of gastric cancer in people with a family history of tumors is greatly affected by environmental factors, and diffuse gastric cancer is closely related to the family. Gastric cancer is currently on the decline in many countries. Survey results show that intestinal gastric cancer is declining rapidly over time, while diffuse gastric cancer is declining slowly.
For high-risk groups of gastric cancer, early detection is required. Close clinical monitoring of healthy family members with hereditary and familial gastric cancer is also required. The specific method is regular gastroscopy. Because the early lesions of hereditary diffuse gastric cancer are relatively hidden and often develop under the mucosa, it is necessary to focus on regular gastroscopy, usually once every six months.
