Colorectal cancer surgical nursing plan

Colorectal cancer surgical nursing plan

Although colorectal cancer is a relatively serious disease, it also requires good care to speed up recovery. Therefore, we will introduce to you the surgical care plan for colorectal cancer. You will also learn that only professional care can speed up recovery from colorectal cancer.

For patients with colorectal cancer, due to the lower position of the tumor, some cannot retain the anus and need to have a stoma and an artificial anus. After the operation, family members should help the nurse to observe and care for the patient's condition. For example, observe whether the wound is bleeding after the operation and keep the dressing clean and dry. Observe the recovery of intestinal function, when the abdominal distension disappears, and the nature of the fluid drained from the stoma. Also help the patient to take care of the fistula, such as flushing the fistula with warm water or saline from 3 days after the operation, and eating at regular times and quantitatively to help control the activity of the intestine; in addition to flushing, dilate the anus with fingers once a day. The skin around the stoma should be kept dry, and the patient should be helped to use protective agents such as zinc oxygen oil.

When the surgical incision sutures have been removed and the incision has completely healed, you can take a bath, either in a tub or in the shower. Wear soft, loose, elastic clothes made of natural fabrics such as cotton and linen, and don't tie your belt too tight.

At present, the treatment of colorectal cancer is mainly through surgery and drug treatment methods. Therefore, patients with colorectal cancer after surgery need more care from others. Therefore, it is particularly important to know more about the care methods of colorectal cancer, especially for people who have such patients at home.
