What should a pregnant woman do if she has colon cancer

The cause of colon cancer during pregnancy is still unclear. Some scholars believe that the complex hormones and internal environment changes during pregnancy may induce or accelerate the malignant transformation of adenomas in the large intestine; at the same time, changes in hormone levels during pregnancy and the increase of alpha-fetoprotein and carcinoembryonic antigen from the fetus in the mother's body, as well as congestion in the pelvic cavity and its internal organs during pregnancy, accelerated blood circulation, promote the development and metastasis of colon cancer, so what should pregnant women do if they have colon cancer?

In the treatment of colon cancer in pregnant women, the pregnancy should not be terminated in the early and middle stages of pregnancy, and then a wide resection of the disease should be performed. After 33 weeks of pregnancy, a cesarean section can be performed first, followed by a radical operation. In full-term pregnancy or during delivery, radical operation should be performed after vaginal delivery or cesarean section. Vaginal delivery is contraindicated in patients with anterior rectal cancer because of the possibility of labor obstruction or postpartum bleeding. In any stage of pregnancy, if colon cancer is combined with obstruction, perforation, and severe bleeding symptoms, pregnancy can be ignored and local surgery can be performed.

Calcium helps women prevent colon cancer!

Taking more than 800 mg of calcium a day can reduce the risk of colorectal cancer by 46%. Whether it is from diet or nutritional supplements, calcium intake can significantly reduce the risk of colorectal cancer in women. Previous studies have shown that calcium intake is related to the prevention of colorectal cancer.
