How do breast cancer patients exercise?

Women who are unfortunately diagnosed with breast cancer hate exercise the most, especially when they are very tired. A study found that proper exercise can not only optimize the quality of life of breast cancer patients, allowing them to stay fulfilled and confident during difficult times, but also help patients better accept chemotherapy.

Many women diagnosed with breast cancer do not meet national guidelines for weekly exercise, especially black women, according to a new study.

"Our results suggest that physical activity should be incorporated as part of breast cancer care," said Dr.

According to researchers, exercise can improve breast cancer survival, reduce morbidity, and improve quality of life. National guidelines recommend that patients get 150 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise or 75 minutes of vigorous exercise per week. So what kind of exercise is suitable for breast cancer patients?

Moderate exercise such as swimming, walking and picnic can improve the 10-year survival rate. Breast cancer patients can reduce the risk of death caused by the disease and effectively prolong the survival time after breast cancer surgery by participating in moderate sports. Moderate exercise refers to swimming, walking, picnic, jogging, cycling, playing tennis, using treadmills, etc. Studies have found that for those who exercise 3 to 5 hours a week, or half an hour a day, the 10-year survival rate after breast cancer surgery is 92%, while for those who exercise less than 1 hour a week, the 10-year survival rate is only 86%.

In addition, during the treatment of breast cancer, patients should have a balanced diet, a reasonable diet, a healthy lifestyle, maintain a normal weight, avoid tobacco, alcohol and related irritating foods, and use health products with caution. During the recovery period after breast cancer treatment, it can strengthen the body's immune system, improve sleep, effectively reduce mental stress, relieve fatigue symptoms caused by cancer or treatment, and increase the body's resistance to disease.
