Will breast cancer recur after dyeing hair

Will breast cancer recur after dyeing hair

I am a breast cancer patient and I am currently recovering. Since I found out that I had breast cancer, my hair has turned a lot whiter and I look very listless. Can breast cancer patients who have been treated dye their hair? Is there a limit to the number of times they can dye their hair? Will breast cancer recur after dyeing their hair? Experts have pointed out that hair dyes in my country are generally divided into direct hair dyes and oxidative hair dyes.

The hair dyes used in barber shops are all oxidizing types. The coloring chemical is paraphenylenediamine, a carcinogen that is also toxic to the liver and kidneys.

Will breast cancer recur after hair dyeing? Breast cancer patients, especially those after chemotherapy, have poorer liver and kidney functions than normal people. The paraphenylenediamine in hair dyes can stimulate the liver and kidneys, which is not conducive to the patient's recovery. It may also induce new malignant tumors or increase the chance of breast cancer recurrence and metastasis. Therefore, not only breast cancer patients, but also other malignant tumor patients should try to avoid hair dyeing during the recovery period.

If you have dyed your hair, you must limit it to no more than twice within a year, and try not to dye it black. When dyeing your hair, you should avoid periods of scalp inflammation or skin damage. After dyeing your hair, you should wash off the remaining hair dye to reduce skin absorption and avoid large amounts of carcinogen p-phenylenediamine. In addition, long-term exposure to p-phenylenediamine will also increase the risk of malignant tumors such as breast cancer, skin cancer, leukemia, lymphoma, and bladder cancer.
