Do condoms cause yeast?

Nowadays, some women who do not want to get pregnant will take various measures to prevent pregnancy, such as using condoms, which is the most common method. Although condoms are very effective in preventing pregnancy, they still have certain effects on women's health. For example, they may cause candidal vaginitis in women. So, why do condoms cause candidal vaginitis?

1. Why do condoms cause candidal vaginitis?

Vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC) is a common and frequent vulvovaginal inflammatory disease caused by Candida albicans.

Most people who use condoms are concerned about its contraceptive effectiveness, but few people pay attention to its ingredients. In fact, most condoms are added with alkaline ingredients such as silicone oil, which happen to be the "killers" that destroy the acidic environment of the human private parts. Long-term accumulation will naturally change the private environment, and the formation of candidal vaginitis will be natural.

2. Treatment of fungal vaginitis

For simple vulvovaginal candidiasis, local medication is the main choice. Generally, the symptoms will be alleviated or disappear within 2-3 days after medication. Clotrimazole vaginal suppository, use every 3 days, 2 times in total.

Regarding the treatment of complicated vulvovaginal candidiasis, the selected drugs are basically the same as those for simple vulvovaginal candidiasis. Whether local or systemic medication, the treatment time should be appropriately extended and the dosage should be increased. Regular follow-up during treatment is important.

The treatment principles for vulvovaginal candidiasis during pregnancy are: the primary issue that must be considered during treatment is whether the drugs are harmful to the fetus; treatment is mainly based on local medication, and no systemic medication is given.

3. Prevention methods of candidal vaginitis

1. Exercise, eat a balanced diet, and avoid foods high in sugar.

2. Develop good hygiene habits. Dress appropriately.

3. When using public toilets, try to avoid sitting on toilets; showers are encouraged. Don't be overly particular about hygiene.

4. Do not abuse antibiotics.

5. Actively treat diabetes.

6. If women who take contraceptive pills have recurrent candidal vaginitis, they should stop taking contraceptive pills and use other contraceptive methods.
